At Ganyana Safaris, we present the opportunity of wildlife viewing from an exciting hot air balloon safari. The Safari begins early at dawn with the rise of the sun and float in whatever direction the winds of the morning take you. The entire hot air balloon safari experience is about 3-4 hours beginning at about 5:30 am to 10:00 am with the actual flight taking one hour depending on the interests of clients and weather conditions of the day.
Exploring the wildlife, the amazing landscapes and fly alongside the birds from above as you enjoy the best of Uganda offering many great photo opportunities of the scenery and wildlife below. Catch the sun rise as you fly high and above of the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park or Murchison Falls National Park with great views of features such as the great rift valley, escarpments, lakes such as Edward, George, the Kazinga channel, Rwenzori Mountains as well as the tremendous wildlife as you experience the natural wilderness in its uniqueness on a Hot Air balloon Safari.
Hot Air balloon pilots are trained by the Ugandan and Egyptian Aviation Authorities for certification before they are accepted to operate these balloons so rest assured and enjoy our safari knowing that you are in safe hands. The balloon is permitted to only carry 8 passengers excluding children below the age of 6.
The launch site for the hot air balloons is near the Paraa Lodge where you will be briefed on the safety precautions, rules and regulations as you get ready to hop aboard the balloon and soar high during the morning sunrise. After the hot air balloon tour, you are handed certificates that show your participation in the activity. There is also a sunset balloon flight that starts exactly at 4:00 pm however, this one does not come with any special offers like the bush meals after the ride.
Hot air ballooning are a perfect add on for honeymooners, offering spectacular scenes and the air fresh and soothing as you experience and make thousands of memories on your Safari in Uganda.
What you should know about Hot Air Balloon Safaris in Uganda
The entire Hot air balloon safari experience takes 3-4 hours.
Flights are offered daily all year round considering the weather is stable thus if the weather conditions are not favourable, balloon safari may not depart.
Hot air balloon passenger flights take place in winds less than 10 knots, with no rain or approaching storms in the immediate area.
Flights also require a visibility of at least 4 km.
Incase of unfavourable weather, a full refund will be issued or alternatively reschedule the activity if passengers have another day in the park.
There is no need of special clothing for this flight
Remember to bring your camera, binoculars, batteries and a protective bag.
Hot Air Ballooning at the Murchison Falls National Park comes along with these features; the general scenic view of the Murchison Falls Park, the Off-road animals hidden somewhere, the Lake Albert and Victoria Nile views, the bush breakfast experience in the wild topped with the participation certificates.
