This 6 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda safari will give you the best and memorable encounter of the most endangered species in the world. The Pearl of Africa has become famous from the Mountain Gorillas that inhabit the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is touched by a splendor with a variety of plant species and multiple colors and not forgetting its profusion of brilliant life. Half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population resides in this lush landscape Bwindi Forest. And after gorilla trekking you will go to Lake Bunyonyi which is very magical with stunning beauty by relaxing and chilling out. On your way back home you will enjoy a walk in the Entebbe Botanical Gardens.

TRIP ITINERARY

Arrival:

Day 1: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will be picked up by Ganyana safari driver /guide from the airport, drive to Ryders lounge Entebbe for early morning breakfast. I will brief you about the whole safari before you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable which is found in the southwestern part of Uganda. Along the way there is a local drum and craft making community so you will have a visit here. Then a stopover at the Equator to take photos, also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs as you head to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch from. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check in at the lodge, relax in the evening and have Dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

The long-awaited day is here when we shall encounter the Gorilla forest to meet and greet with the world’s most gentle primates in one of the dense tropical rainforests of the world that will reward you with once in a lifetime unending smiles and memories after setting eyes on the massive ‘Mountain Gorillas’. Gorilla trekking is never easy or hard, it’s always fun walking through the jungle and experiencing what life is like in the forest. The hike might be short or long depending on the Gorilla movements. After trekking, return back to the lodge and in the evening, you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Nature walks and hikes

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi. After gorilla trekking Lake Bunyonyi is a magical, stunningly beautiful lake in Uganda to relax and chill out. Check-in to your lodge and you can decide to go for swimming at the lodge. After lunch you will go for nature walks and hike and a guide will be with you so that you do not get lost. Hikes are the mostly and here you will meet some locals who will tell you the amazing history of Lake Bunyonyi and how they live around Lake Bunyonyi. You will enjoy seeing the African sun set on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4: Bird watching and mountain biking

Wake up and have breakfast at your lodge, Bunyonyi means little birds and Lake Bunyonyi is a home for over 200 species of birds. A boat safari with a guide will enable to see different kinds of birds. You will have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon go for cultural visits in the village, you will meet Ugandans who stay there and stories about Lake Bunyonyi and the 29 Islands on it.

Day 5: Scenic drive to Entebbe

Have an early breakfast, check out and start your journey back to Kampala passing through rolling hills with terraces and also you will have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through. Have lunch in Mbarara and another stop will be at Mbambire drum makers point. After buying some of these drums, continue to Kampala arriving late afternoon. The guide will drop you off to the hotel in Entebbe for overnight.

Day 6: Botanical gardens walk and departure

After a heavy breakfast, you will set off for Botanical gardens with breathtaking surrounds not-to-be-missed during your stay. Take a gentle stroll in the company of a knowledgeable guide who will introduce you to the fascinating array of fauna (keep an eye peeled for the black and white colobus monkey) and flora along the way not forgetting is an enchanting niche of pretty flowers, lush plants, and handsome trees. Your guide will then transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for you to check in and catch your outbound flight back home.
