Kibale Chimpanzee Habituation Safari
Safari Overview – 3 Days/ 2 Nights
On this trip you will have an opportunity to visit Kibale Forest National Park the primate capital of the world and one of East Africa’s major tropical rainforest. This safari will provide you with a combination of tours that include chimpanzee trekking, bigodi wetland visit, Amabere caves visit and sighting other primate species that are about 13 in number.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, Bigodi Wetland Eco Walk
After an early morning breakfast, drive to Kibale forest National park commonly known as the primate capital of the world and one of East Africa’s major tropical rain forest. You drive through papyrus swamps and the thick jungle of the Nile Delta; the drive is about 8-9 hours. Check in your lodge and relax. In the afternoon visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk, rich in biodiversity and beautiful scenery, the wetland is a birder’s paradise with about 138 species hosting eight species of primates including the black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed, l’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, and olive baboons. Later you can enjoy a walk to the “top of the world” along crater lakes which this area is also famous for crater lakes view and the mountain of the moon.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation and Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru Caves
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest Headquarters and get a briefing on the day’s activity. With a ranger guide, you will venture into the jungle in search of the chimpanzees and while tracking, you will be able to spot different animal species like the Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, and L’Hoest’s Monkey among others and different bird species. You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees as you watch them play, feed and groom each other. Return back to the lodge for lunch and check-out. In afternoon You will peacefully be driven to fort portal, distance takes 20km, 30minutes to fort portal and visit the amazing caves that are surrounded by the beautiful crater lakes. While at the caves locally known as Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru you will encounter geographical features such as the breast like pointed pillars and learn about the Bachwezi people and their culture. Retire to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe
After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe with an en-route lunch. You will be dropped at a location of your choice or at Entebbe international Airport for your outbound flight.
