Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, near Kibale National Park in western Uganda, is a beautiful community-based tourism destination famous for its rich biodiversity. Visitors can enjoy guided nature walks through the wetland, where they may see monkeys, colourful butterflies, lush vegetation, and many bird species, including the famous Great Blue Turaco.
The Bigodi experience also offers an opportunity to interact with the local community and learn about traditional ways of life. A visit can include village experiences, local crafts, and demonstrations of traditional activities. It is an excellent addition to a Kibale safari, especially for visitors who enjoy birdwatching, nature walks, wildlife and cultural experiences.
